We are proud to deliver high quality services that help protect victims and survivors whatever choice they make about their future. We also work to transform the systems that can directly or indirectly harm survivors and through our training, prevention and educational work we inspire individuals and organisations to tackle the root causes of domestic abuse.
We have humble beginnings, starting life in the 1970s in a two bedroomed flat in York as York Women’s Aid. Since then we have grown to be the largest specialist charity in the North.
We support thousands of people each year and those we support tell us that our services are life changing and sometimes life-saving.
Our team is made up of dedicated, qualified professionals and volunteers many of whom have lived experience. Each one of us is proud of the work of IDAS.
The quality of our services is evidenced through the feedback we receive and through our national standards awards.
Our values underpin all that we do and how we do it. We are Compassionate, Courageous, Inclusive and Inspirational.
We are proud to present our five-year strategy which sets out how we work to effect transformative and lasting change for survivors, communities and our future.
IDAS is the largest specialist charity in Yorkshire supporting people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
