There’s a Tiny Shadow on my brain, a
Dainty cloud of Damage.
You’d never know it because I
“Look Great!”
But you might Wonder if you felt my
Profound Silence when Startled or
Watched my body
Fling itself with Wild Abandon while I went on
Smiling or
Sleeping.
Unaware.
It was all the shouting
All the Watching the headlights track across the ceiling and
Waiting for the door to Slam and
Hiding.
It was all the being kept in the dark but being fed cake.
It was all the Outrages
