On the 5th October, we held our first ever fundraising dinner at the Grand Hotel in York. We were joined by inspiring survivors who spoke to the packed room about their experiences. Jen spoke about her experience of rape and told us how vital the support of IDAS had been in helping her get through the ensuing court case. We were then joined by Kerry and Joanne who spoke about the murder of their sister at the hands of her abusive partner. They are determined to help spread the word about the life-saving support that IDAS can provide.
Our patron, Joanne Harris, entertained us by giving an uplifting speech about the power of stories and reading from her bestseller, Chocolat.
