Join us for an evening with our patron Joanne Harris MBE.
We are delighted to announce that our esteemed patron, Joanne Harris MBE, will be speaking at our first ever fundraising dinner. The event will be held at The Grand Hotel & Spa, York on Thursday 5th October at 6.30pm.
Born in Barnsley in 1964, Joanne has written many novels including the novel 'Chocolat' which was made into an Oscar nominated film. Her books are published in over 50 countries and have won many British and international awards. Joanne became an IDAS Patron in 2015. This will be a unique opportunity to hear a reading from 'Chocolat', a talk about her work, participate in a Q and A session, and be entertained by up and coming spoken word artist Imogen Davies. You will also have the opportunity to hear about our achievements in 2017.
We will welcome 100 guests to join us for an exceptional evening, including reception drinks and a lovely three-course meal. Tickets are just £50 and the proceeds from each ticket sold will help us to support more people affected by domestic abuse.
Joanne Harris MBE, Author and IDAS Patron said:
"I’m delighted to be able to support IDAS with this evening with a reading and Q & A about my books; I’ll be talking about my whole career, my new projects (and some old ones.) And, for the first time in nearly 20 years, I’ll be reading from 'Chocolat'."
We are looking forward to this evening and to sharing it with our friends and supporters.
